The sun is setting, a salmon colored ellipse in a sky of lavender and gold. Two otters play ahead of your canoe, chattering to each other as if you weren't there. The Upper Hudson runs peacefully this evening, but raged through Long Falls and Ord Falls Rapids, but WildFire slipped through dry. You played the eddies and surfed the next few riffles. Now, you spin in a boat length while playing with the otters on the Blackwell Stillwater. WildFIRE is the complete paddlers' solo canoe.
WildFire is a David Yost design featuring
a symmetrical, elliptical, hull with flare carried above the waterline
to a tightly radiused shoulder. The rails tumblehome from the
shoulder to provide a narrow paddling station. Significant rocker
allows both stems to lift clear when heeled to the rail, where
the shoulder firms nicely. WildFIRE is quite quick, due to minimized
wetted surface and fine lines.
